The owners of this Tuscan home wished to contemporize the interiors to reflect their modern lifestyle. Therefore, for the cabinetry, we chose an espresso-stained cherry and a figured Australian walnut veneer as the exterior finishes, as the cherry lends a traditional flavor to the cabinetry, while the elegant figured veneer anchors the design in the contemporary modus.
A great room just west of the kitchen contains a formal dining area, entertainment center, and a bar. The dining table has a 1″ thick glass top and a custom silver-leafed table base that reflects the shape of the chandeliers hanging above. The cabinetry for the TV wall was constructed with sequenced-matched figured Australian walnut veneer and includes a blind-cut door to the right of the fireplace that conceals a walk-in home theater equipment room. The bar features a mirrored display cabinet above a hammered silver sink. Custom silver-plated ribbon pulls by Giorgio Borrelli accent the cabinet doors.
The powder room contains a back-lit ash white crystal countertop over a Ceylon teak cabinet and a custom floating mirror flanked by crystal sconces.
The master bedroom and family room have built-in home offices as well as dressing wardrobes.
The master bath includes furniture-grade cabinetry, as for the rest of the home, which is accented by our custom mirrors and chrome-plated pulls by Giorgio Borrelli.
The kitchen was designed for a family of six, and the large island can seat everyone. A Sub-Zero refrigerator and oven along with a 150-bottle wine captain comprise the core of the appliances. The cabinetry is a furniture-grade combination of solid cherry and Australian walnut veneer consistent with the level of sophistication the clients desired.
